What Are Cookies?

Cookies and similar technologies (such as browser storage) are small pieces of data kept on your device that help the site work and, where you allow it, help us understand how it is used. Analytics tools and first-party analytics beacons are also covered by this policy.

How We Use Cookies

Strictly necessary (always active)

These keep you signed in and keep the platform secure. The site cannot function without them, so they do not require your consent.

• Error and performance monitoring
• Remembering essential preferences

Error monitoring is part of keeping the service working: it is how we find out that a page has broken for you at all. It records the technical details of a fault (the error, the page it happened on, and your browser version), together with a small sample of page-load timings. It is not used to build a profile of you, and we do not attach your IP address to it.

Analytics (optional, only with your consent)

With your consent, we use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, to understand how visitors find and use our public website: which pages are viewed, which site or app sent you to us (such as a search engine or an AI assistant), your approximate location, and your device and browser type. Google processes this data on our behalf as our service provider. Google Analytics runs only on our public marketing pages. It never runs inside the HostIQ app, on property booking websites, or on payment, order, and other private links, and we never send it your name, email address, phone number, or anything you type into a form.

Google Analytics sets these cookies on our domain:

• _ga: tells one visitor from another. Kept for up to 2 years
• _ga_<ID>: keeps track of your current visit. Kept for up to 2 years

We also use first-party analytics to understand how our Help Center is used, recorded with a hashed IP address and never a raw one.

None of this runs until you opt in. You can withdraw your consent at any time: Google Analytics then stops and we delete its cookies from your browser. You can also install Google’s opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and read how Google uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

HostIQ does not use advertising or marketing tracking cookies. Google signals and advertising features are turned off in our Google Analytics, and analytics data is never used to show you ads.

Managing Your Choices

You can change your cookie choices at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in our website footer. You can also manage or delete cookies through your browser settings, though certain features may not function properly if strictly-necessary cookies are disabled.
